Compatible file formats include linear PCM WAV format, BWF (Broadcast Wave Format) that is used at broadcasting stations, and also MP3 format. As such, the user can record over long periods of time using MP3 multi-channel recording by setting multiple microphones, which is useful for purposes such as recording meetings. Furthermore, the monitor mix function allows stereo monitoring with level and pan settings. This monitor-mix can be simultaneously recorded onto stereo tracks, independent to 6-tracks. Furthermore, the DR-680MKII is capable of 2-track recording at 24bit/192kHz and can be used as a portable stereo master recorder.

Description

The DR-680MKII is a portable multi-channel recorder that allows simultaneous recording up to 8 tracks at 96kHz/24-bit, coming equipped with 6 mic/line inputs and digital input channels.
Equipped with a TASCAM-developed high-sound quality HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) microphone amplifier, the DR-680MKII has improved the sound quality of its op-amp and condensers through extensive listening tests.
The DR-680MKII allows high-sound quality multi-channel recording using multiple microphones at various settings such as drama and documentary productions, on-field recording, SE recording, and live concert recordings.

Compatible with SDCX cards, allowing many hours of recording via a large capacity SD-card

A dual recorder function has been newly added with the DR-680MKII, enabling a -12dB backup recording of audio inputs through inputs 1, 3, and 5. For recording/playback media, the DR-680MKII supports SD and SDHC cards, as well as an SDXC card up to 128GB. The light and compact frame boasts excellent resistance to vibration and environmental conditions, eliminating the need for maintenance, ensuring a convenient recording environment.
